Jarod was born in Fridley, Minnesota, where he began learning the tricks of the trade in hockey. By high school, Jarod joined Team USA and moved in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he finished high school. He continued playing hockey for the Tri-City Storm in Kearney, Nebraska for two years. After receiving a scholarship, he played four years of collegiate hockey for the Miami University Redhawks and graduated from the Farmer School of Business. After college, Jarod played for the Minnesota Wild and AHL affiliate the Houston Aeros.
Jarod currently coaches the NA3HL Junior team, the Sugar Land Imperials and has started the hockey school, Palmer Hockey Clinic.
Jarod enjoys fishing, fishing...and fishing.
